Instead of spending your first weekend assembling furniture or waiting for internet installation, you can spend it exploring your new neighborhood.

If You Chose an Unfurnished Home

Moving into an unfurnished apartment gives you the opportunity to create a space that's entirely your own.

As you settle in, here are a few items you'll want to check off your list:

• Set Up Internet Service: Residents are set for Hunter Communications or Comcast/Xfinity.
• Transfer Your Utilities: Be sure to establish electric service before move-in if you haven't already. Having utilities ready before your first night makes unpacking much more comfortable.
• Update Your Address: Notify USPS, banks and credit cards, insurance providers, employer, subscription services and friends and family. Taking care of your address changes early helps ensure nothing gets left behind.
